THE CAPTAIN'S LOG

12:07 AM -- 2004-05-07
Work's a bitch these days...

I haven't been talkin at cha lately... see I've got this job thats been doing some major time suckage. Usually when I come home I either want to get some sleep or die, so naturally, there's not much time for log updates.

Actually, I shouldn't bitch. Its not so bad really. I don't have to wear some stupid costume to work like some of the other jobs I've had. I can just wear street clothes and half price books pin, and I'm ready for work, so I can't complain about that.

But for the most part, I've kinda been working by myself, and I haven't really got to work with anyone else there. See, the fun part's in the back of the store, and thats where everyone hangs out and looks at books, pricing etc. Since I'm considered a temp, I can't do any real work stuff, so my job is pretty much to run the cash register and deal with people who want to exchange their Tone Loc cds. It wears on the nerves when its all you do for eight hours a day, man.

And I kinda feel this bad vibe from the people I work with too. You know that "new kid in school" vibe you get whenever you don't know anyone in jr high? Before all the other kids let down their guard and say, "yea, she's cool." Its that nasty vibe where you get strange looks and when you talk everyone gets judgingly silent. Talk about awkward and a half. Its a bitch, man... and since for the eight hours I'm there I work alone, this vibe is lasting far longer than I expected.

Perhaps if I rescue a puppy or shoot a terrorist, I'll be finally welcomed into this bizarre tribe.

Jesus... when you put it all that way, Ninja, I really seem to be in a depressing shithole.

Oh well, I score a paycheck tomorrow.

Back in the 7th grade again, The Ninja is signing off...

Sa Da Tay!!

PS. I was walking by Hot Topic at the mall today, and a shirt caught my eye that said, "Whats up, Ninja?" Fucking bizarre, I tell you. Perhaps its a quote from Leprechaun: Back to da Hood, but I think thats a longshot. I don't know what you kids listen to these days, with that hippity-hop and rap music stuff.

Someone tell me who ganked my copyright and put it on a goddamn t-shirt. The guestbook would be adequate.
