State of the Union, my ass...

Well, I'm about to seriously snack down on some spicy chicken soup, but I'll do this real quick first.

Finally fucking going to austin this weekend, to apartment hunt and see my long-missed buddies. Its been too long since I've heard a song about organic tampons... "made of unbleached cotton, for all your feminine blottin'." Goddammit, I miss those motherfuckers in the southlands.

One of my favorite quotes from my mentor, Dillon Roberts.. is when one time we all went out to dinner, and to break some strange silence, he said this:

"Joe, I'm going to kill you. And by kill, I mean fuck."

gosh... I wanna go home....

Well, the State of the Union sucked heinous donkey nuts this evening... managed to convert even my dad into a conservative-despising heathen.

My favorite line, and I've heard him say this at least once in another speech... almost qualifying it as a bonified catch-phrase is this:

"The United States of America will not be intimidated by thugs and assassins."

And in the distance, the entire state of tx erupted in two hoots and 4 hollers.

I refuse to buy the bullshit... this isn't the superbowl, and I am not a Dallas Cowboy... I need no pump-up or pep-talk. Not gonna fly, President Douchebag.

I talked politics inadvertantly with my cousin today, as he came over for lunch. "I'm proud of the president because he's from texas and he didn't sit on his ass whenever those bad guys attacked us."

Oh dear. I had to spend time schooling on the "bad guys" and how we as texans don't have an obligation to support anyone from here.

"David Koresh was from here... why didn't you join the cult at the branch Davidian?"

"Thats different... Bush is president."

"Koresh thought he was Jesus.. would you refuse to support a Jesus from Texas?"

well... thats when things got silly and ended up with us talking about Alicia Keys would make a good president (I know... but tangents were necessary to prevent bloodshed.)

In unrelated news, I slept til 2pm and ate a lunch of chicken mcnuggets in my jammies.
