It really pisses me off when people come in and ask me where we keep the cliff's notes

Saw something disturbing the other day. Well, I see disturbing things by the hour, but this was enough to be noted upon.

Anywho... You know those books in that "For Dummies" series? (Gardening for Dummies, Windows for Shitheads etc.)

Someone brought in a book, "Breast Cancer for Dummies."

I shit you not.... no hoax.

Here's another thing that makes my ill at ease. Romance novels.

Yea, I've read a few choice paragraphs from a romance book... Jordie, you know what I'm talking about.

One night, he and I found some romance novels at Nana's house and started reading them.... 19th century scoundrels and white-breasted ladies just getting it on like rabbits. I'm not kidding you. Its risque to the ridiculous limit.

Racy shit. Nothing more than glorified porn if you ask me.

Pick up any Harlequin novel, flip through it, and you're sure to find what I'm talking about. Bumpin' grindin', loins a'fire.... dirty shit.

One woman today, whilst buying a few described it as "junk food for the brain."

You're goddamn right. That shit has about as much substance as a basket full of Britney and Christina albums.

But whats really disturbing is the audience that just gobbles this stuff up. Women from 60+ buy carts full of Danielle Steel and company.

Its bizarre... and I'm starting to wonder whether I'm the only one that notices.

I'm freaked out on about nine different levels right now.

Its not that I'm badmouthing Danielle Steel.... its just I think she writes worthless crap.
